My Very Own BetterHtmlExport Template
Some time ago, I discovered a great plugin for iPhoto that would allow me to write my own templates, and then generate photo galleries with thumbnails and everything. In the interests of sharing (and to show off), feel free to take a look at the template files used in the photo section of this site.
You will need each of the following:
- A mac - Total no-brainer
- iPhoto - Apple's excellent photo management program
- BetterHtmlExport - The sweet tool for generating pages from a template
- The following three files, conveniently packaged in this zip file
- The Index Template - for the thumbnail pages
- The Image Template - for the individual image pages
- The PList File - to tie it all together
Of course, the whole template is hard-coded to work with (the incredible) joshzana.com, but feel free to messa around with it, and get it to work on your very own site!
iTunes Munger™
Once upon a time, The Man gave Josh the day off of work so The Man could move Josh's office. Out of this fortuitous situation was born the iTunes Munger™, the first useful tool ever written by yours truly.

The program allows you to select a playlist from a given iTunes library, view the tracks in the playlist, and then export the entire playlist to a given directory. It was only with the help of such powerful tools that the great library merge of 2004 was able to take place. Right now, it is Windows only, and totally hacky, but at some point I will clean it up, post the source here, and maybe even port it to the mac.

Jotter
Long, long ago, three nerdy Jews whose names all happened to start with the letter J set out to solve all of the world's educational problems, impress Brian Kernighan, and write some really cool PHP code. Today, resurrected from the dead, I am proud to present Jotter.
Old Websites
Take a trip down memory lane and check out my older, much crappier websites, now back online in all of their previous glory.
- My first attempt - Created circa 2002, this website had the now famous gerbil/hamster image, references to Jotter, and numerous other nerdy things. Famously voted "Worst Website Ever" by The J Expose.
- Attempt #2 - Envisioned as a response to the "Worst Website Ever" award, this site was much cleaner, and features the diatribe that began the flame-war with the South Africans, as well as some funny pictures of Heinberg. It also prominently featured the "Z" logo seen above, created for the specific purpose of sprucing things up a bit.
